Burges Salmon Apprenticeships

Burges Salmon's apprenticeship programmes offer paid, structured routes into legal and business professional careers, combining on-the-job training with formal study. The legal apprenticeship is a Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship run in tandem with BPP University based in the firm's Bristol office and spans six years, enabling apprentices to qualify as solicitors while working at the firm.

Apprentices earn from day one and salaries increase each year.

Apprentices typically spend four days a week working at the firm and one day studying. The firm recruits approximately four legal apprentices each year. In addition to legal roles, Burges Salmon has offered business apprenticeships in areas such as Finance, Marketing, Project Management and IT; these programmes generally run between two and four years and the apprenticeship level and study programme vary by department.

Academic entry requirements include GCSEs (grades 5+ with at least a 6 in Maths and English) and A Levels (BBB or equivalent). Applications for the 2026 legal apprenticeship open on 15 September 2025 and close on 10 November 2025; the firm runs virtual and in-person open evenings (registration links on the jobs pages).
