West Midlands Police is recruiting Business Administrator apprentices to provide clerical and administrative support for processing camera-detected offences across the West Midlands policing area. Apprentices will learn on the job handling offence records (e.

g. using national systems such as Startraq/Pentip), maintaining office systems and databases, producing prosecution files, answering enquiries, and supporting general clerical tasks. The role is based at Lloyd House, Snow Hill Queensway, Birmingham (B4 6NQ).

This is a Level 3 apprenticeship with workplace training and monthly face-to-face training sessions supported by weekly independent study. Working hours are 36. 5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00.

The apprenticeship starts on Monday 2 March 2026, runs for 1 year 6 months, and has 16 positions available. Training provider is THE CHIEF CONSTABLE OF WEST MIDLANDS.

Applicants must hold GCSEs in English and Maths (grade 4 or above). Successful candidates must pass vetting (including counter-terrorism clearance and financial checks) and a medical assessment which may include drug or hearing tests.

On completion, apprentices may apply for permanent roles if available. The apprenticeship is Disability Confident and offers interview consideration for applicants with disabilities or long-term health conditions.
