This is a two-week, in-person Business Foundations course offered as part of the Dartmouth Summer Scholars program. The course provides an introduction to core business topics including finance, accounting and spreadsheet modelling, and covers concepts such as financial leverage, risk, compounding, and project financing.
Sessions combine theoretical grounding with practical application. Students undertake a public company valuation project that emphasises client relations, revenue generation, competition, innovation and strategic decision-making.
The programme also focuses on corporate communication and presentation skills, teamwork through real-world problem solving, and opportunities to explore potential career paths in business and finance. Instructor: Patroklos Karantinos, MBA (Tuck School of Business alumnus and experienced instructor in the Tuck Business Bridge programs).
The course runs on Dartmouth's campus (Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH) with both residential (boarding) and day options. The listing shows a June session from 28 June 2026 to 10 July 2026. International students receive visa support guidance (B-2 visa or ESTA guidance depending on country), and the programme provides housing, three meals per day (for residential), campus activities, and some travel/arrival support as described on the page.
