Spend two weeks rehearsing songs, scenes and stage action through acting, singing and ensemble performance, then bring the production to the stage in two public performances. You can also audition for specific roles at the welcome workshop.

Buxton Opera House’s Summer School invites young people to take part in School of Rock: Young Actors Edition at the Pavilion Arts Centre. Over two weeks, participants work on the show through acting, singing and ensemble performance, building the energy and confidence needed to bring the production to life.

Based on the Paramount film and stage musical, the course follows Dewey Finn as he turns a group of straight-A students into a rock band. Young performers rehearse the songs, scenes and stage action, with the chance to audition for specific roles at a welcome workshop in July.

The Summer School finishes with two public performances, giving the cast the opportunity to share what they have created with an audience. Buxton Opera House also offers a limited number of bursary places, and a sibling discount is available for families booking more than one place.
