CLOSED THIS CYCLE

The Cambridge Policy Hackathon (CPH) is a newly founded, in-person hackathon taking place in Cambridge, UK from 14 to 16 May. Over a focused 2. 5-day weekend, students, researchers, and young professionals form multidisciplinary teams to develop evidence-based policies and prototype tools addressing pressing societal issues affecting Cambridge, the UK, or beyond.

Challenges are provided by government and industry stakeholders, and the event emphasises the interdisciplinary intersection between technology and society. The hackathon is inspired by the MIT Policy Hackathon and builds on prior editions held elsewhere such as Amsterdam.

Teams work on one of five policy themes, produce prototypes, and present their solutions to a panel of experts. The weekend schedule includes kickoff presentations, a team formation deadline, social dinner, and an intensive hacking period where participants prepare presentations for final judging.

The event is structured as a competition across teams with mentorship and stakeholder engagement throughout the weekend.
