This two-week Cambridge Psychology summer programme gives high-school students an introduction to university-level psychology. Students explore topics such as behavioural genetics, cognitive psychology, social psychology and research methods, working in small classes (average 7, maximum 12) led by tutors from top universities.
The course includes academic skills workshops designed to prepare participants for university learning and a personal research project with tutor feedback. The programme balances taught sessions with social and cultural activities: formal hall dining, games nights, talent shows, and excursions (including a day trip to Oxford and an optional London visit).
Students receive a graduation certificate, a detailed tutor evaluation, course materials, mentor support and summer school insurance. Academic provision is approximately 30 hours in total (about 20 hours per week as listed).
Practical arrangements are provided on-campus at the University of Cambridge: 13 nights' accommodation for boarding participants (single rooms where stated), meals (breakfast and dinner), arrival transfers (shared Heathrow service available for a fee), and pastoral support. Participants must meet the stated English language requirement (upper-intermediate, B2).
