For people under 18, the placement focuses on observing site surveying and measuring, joining site and facility visits, reviewing drawings and architectural plans, and taking part in design team discussions and meetings.
For people over 18, the placement can also include supporting the preparation of drawings and tender documents, drafting drawings and CAD illustrations, shadowing site and design meetings, and taking minutes. It is a strong option for anyone interested in construction projects, planning, design coordination, or project management.
Location
- Reside within the borough, and/or
- Attend an educational establishment (school or college) located within the borough and have a requirement to complete work experience.
- Attend university and have a requirement to complete work experience.
- Be affiliated with an employability support organisation and have a requirement to complete work experience.
- Priority will be given to applicants who live, study, or are supported within the borough.
Generally unpaid; some university placement students may be paid when formally advertised and subject to a formal recruitment process.
