This on-campus summer program at Georgetown University introduces motivated middle- and high-school students to careers in medicine and health sciences. Participants explore a wide range of specialties - including pediatrics, family medicine, OB-GYN, nursing, plastic surgery, emergency medicine, dentistry, and biomedical research - through lectures, presentations, discussions, and interactive simulations.
The program emphasizes understanding educational pathways, medical ethics, health disparities, genetics, and current healthcare challenges while offering hands-on, university-level learning experiences. Residential and day options are available during June and July sessions; residential participants receive housing, three weekday meals, activity excursions, and campus supervision.
Students receive detailed performance reports, instructor feedback, and documentation of their achievements (completion certificate, letter of recognition, and official Georgetown transcript for credit-bearing classes). International students receive visa support guidance and medical insurance as described in the program materials.
