Embark on a transformative medicine and health sciences summer program at the University of Michigan designed for high school students aged 14–18. The course combines lectures, group discussions, hands-on experiences and field trips to the University of Michigan Medical Center to give participants insight into medical ethics, healthcare systems, biomedical research and personal wellness.
Guest speakers from a range of medical specialties provide real-world perspectives. Students follow a structured campus schedule with small interactive classes, project-based learning and supervised on- and off-campus activities.
Residential (boarding) and day options are available, and students receive a detailed performance report and portfolio-building documents after completion. A supplemental field trip fee of $95 applies for certain experiences.
The program welcomes domestic and international students; international attendees are charged an additional non-refundable International Registration Fee (details provided on the course page) which covers visa support, airport transfers and medical insurance. Prospective applicants must complete the Summer Institute Application to apply.
