EAST CLEVELAND YOUTH HOUSING
Fancy building real skills with your hands? Join East Cleveland Youth Housing’s Carpentry & Joinery Apprenticeship to learn on-the-job, gain practical construction experience, earn a Level 3 qualification and boost your career prospects while helping refurbish local homes.
This apprenticeship with East Cleveland Youth Housing Trust provides hands-on carpentry and joinery experience working on property maintenance and renovation projects. Most of the role is on the job, developing practical construction skills, following instructions from ECYHT, and contributing to community refurbishment work.
The apprenticeship aims to develop the knowledge, skills and competences needed for a career in carpentry and joinery and leads to a recognised Level 3 qualification.
Training includes one day per week at Stockton Riverside College (Level 3 Craft Carpentry & Joinery) plus workplace learning. You will learn site first and second fix techniques, how to select and use hand and power tools, interpret drawings and specifications, apply health and safety practices, and complete required documentation and assessments.
Functional skills in maths and English will be provided if required.
Applicants should have Carpentry and Joinery (Pass) as an essential qualification and GCSEs in English and Maths are desirable. The role is based at Skelton Industrial Estate (Skelton in Cleveland, TS12 2LQ) and requires the ability to travel locally and to the training provider once a week.
The apprenticeship is full-time (usually Monday-Friday, circa 30 hours/week) and may lead to a full-time position on completion.
