St Catherine's College Academic Taster Days offer school students the chance to explore specific subject areas, meet tutors and current students, experience a taste of academic teaching at Oxford, and learn more about applying to university. The programme includes online Bright Matter sessions (aimed at women and non-binary students in Years 11 and 12 interested in STEM) and in-person full-day Academic Taster Days held at St Catherine's College.
Online Bright Matter sessions (16:30-17:30) in January and February 2026 will cover Biology, Human Sciences and Medicine, and include subject insights, a short academic taster and a live Q&A with current students and tutors. Students who attend Bright Matter sessions may be invited to express interest in attending an in-person Academic Taster Day later in the year as part of the programme.
In-person Academic Taster Days take place in May 2026 and provide the opportunity to spend a day on campus, attend academic sessions in your chosen subject, meet undergraduates, participate in activities or demo interview sessions, and enjoy lunch in the college. All events are free to attend; registration details will be published on the college website.
