Coding Black Females (CBF) is partnering with the Women of STEM (WoSTEM) Society at Queen Mary University of London for a hands-on, in-person hackathon. Participants will work in multidisciplinary teams to tackle the challenge: “How can we reduce the gender gap in STEM education?
” Teams will design and prototype solutions aimed at improving access, participation and opportunities for women and girls in STEM, with support and mentorship from CBF and student mentors. The event emphasises collaboration, creativity and practical problem-solving and is suitable for beginners and more experienced coders alike.
During the event attendees will take part in a welcome and briefing, a focused hackathon session to build ideas and prototypes, and short team presentations followed by networking. Bring a fully charged laptop and any chargers or devices you prefer to work with.
The event offers an opportunity to develop a portfolio project, build teamwork and communication skills, and connect with a supportive community at Queen Mary University of London.
