Explore feminist waves, current movements and common misconceptions in a live, interactive webinar with a University of Portsmouth sociology specialist. Share questions by comment or microphone, and hear why feminism remains relevant in the UK and worldwide.
This is a live, interactive online webinar exploring feminism today, from the idea of feminist waves through to current feminist movements and some of the more problematic versions of feminism. The session looks at common misconceptions and considers why feminism remains relevant in the UK and across the globe.
Participants will hear from Dr Charlotte Morris from the Sociology team at the University of Portsmouth. She specialises in gender and feminism, and the talk finishes by making the case for an intersectional, justice-based approach to feminism.
The event is designed for pre-university students who are curious about feminism or who are studying feminist perspectives as part of their wider learning. Student groups, individual students, and teachers are all welcome, and the session is delivered live on Zoom with opportunities to interact by typed comments, questions, or microphone.
