Know a curious 13-15-year-old? Send them to Chemistry for Teens at the University of Oxford: a two-week, hands-on summer school with small classes, expert tutors, practical experiments and team projects to build real lab skills.

Chemistry for Teens at the University of Oxford Campus is a two-week, in-person summer programme designed for curious 13-15-year-olds. Students engage in hands-on experiments across physical, organic and inorganic chemistry topics (rates of reaction, states of matter, surface tension, crystals, the periodic table and more).

Classes are small (maximum 8 students) to allow personalised attention from expert tutors, and sessions include teamwork masterclasses, reflection sessions and project-based learning.

The programme mixes academic lessons with enrichment activities and excursions to major UK sites (British Museum, Warwick Castle, Tower of London, Bath, Blenheim Palace, Ashmolean Museum, Portsmouth, Bristol and Oxford city tours). Residential students stay in Oxford colleges (examples: Lady Margaret Hall, St Benet's at St Hilda's, Worcester College) with full-board meals provided; day students follow a structured schedule with drop-off between 8:30-9:00 and pick-up between 18:30-7:00 and receive lunch and dinner while on programme.

Every participant receives a certificate of achievement, written tutor feedback and a personalised Letter of Recommendation. Airport transfers operate from London Heathrow on official arrival/departure days (staff present 09:00-6:00); families are encouraged to book flights that arrive before 15:00 to join the final transfer of the day.
