Explore public service roles through work experience placements across council locations including Chester, Ellesmere Port, Winsford and Northwich. Build practical skills over one to five days, and use your application statement to name a council job role that interests you.
Cheshire West and Chester Council offers high quality work experience placements across the authority for young people who want to gain insight into public service roles and build practical skills. The placements are designed for students aged 14 to 18 who live within the Cheshire West and Chester boundary and attend a Cheshire West and Chester school or college.
Applicants are asked to complete the Work Experience Request Form and provide at least two months' notice before their required placement date. The council uses the application statement to understand each applicant’s interests, qualities and desire to develop new skills, and asks students to include one specific council job role or occupation in their statement.
Placements may be available in different council locations, including Chester, Ellesmere Port, Winsford and Northwich. The form also covers placement length options from one day up to five days, and asks whether the applicant is in Year 10, Year 11, Year 12, Year 13, college, T Levels or another relevant stage of education.
Unpaid.
No fee is stated for the work experience placements.
