Explore clinical and non-clinical roles in a major cancer hospital, from nursing and research to administration, customer service and hospitality. Learn from experienced professionals, build new skills and get an inside view of the healthcare environment in a supportive hospital setting.

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust offers work experience placements each year for young people across Greater Manchester. Placements are available in both clinical and non-clinical areas, giving students the chance to explore the wide range of careers that support the NHS, from nursing and research to administration, customer service and hospitality.

During the placement, participants gain insight into the healthcare environment, develop new skills and learn from experienced professionals in a supportive hospital setting. The team aims to provide a high-quality experience that helps young people build confidence, understand more about working in a major cancer hospital, and take their first steps towards a future career in healthcare.

Applications are reviewed after submission and there may be a waiting list depending on demand and departmental capacity. To express interest, applicants email the work experience team with their name, age, area of interest, availability, school or college details, and whether this is their first placement.

A completed application form and photographic ID are also required.
