Christ's Medicine Taster Day is a one-day outreach event run by Christ's College, Cambridge, designed to give school students an insight into studying Medicine at Cambridge. The programme includes a welcome and introductory talk with the Director of Studies in Medicine, project and elective talks, a college lunch and tour (for in-person attendees), a student panel and Q&A, a mock interview discussion, medical scenarios and a final plenary.
Sessions are live and interactive for both in-person and online participants.
The event on Wednesday 21 January 2026 is hybrid: students may attend in person at Christ's or join online via Zoom. Places are for students only; sessions are not suitable for parents/carers. In-person capacity is limited so online places may be offered if in-person space is unavailable.
Those offered a place are expected to be available for the live sessions on the day; recordings are not provided.
Eligibility requires UK home fee status and being in Year 12 (England/Wales), Year 13 (Northern Ireland) or S5 (Scotland), or be in your final year of school and planning a gap year before university application. Applicants must be studying Chemistry plus two from Biology, Maths or Physics at the specified qualification levels and meet the stated GCSE / National 5 attainment requirements.

Location
- You are currently studying at a UK school and would be eligible for Home (UK) Fee Status at university (i.e. not classed as an international student).
- You are currently in Year 12 (England/Wales), Year 13 (Northern Ireland) or S5 (Scotland); OR you are currently in your final year of school and will be applying to university on a gap year (i.e. not applying for 2026 entry but for 2027 entry).
- You currently study Chemistry plus two from Biology, Maths or Physics at A-Level, Scottish Higher (to be carried onto Advanced Higher), or at Higher Level in the International Baccalaureate (Mathematics should be IB HL Analysis & Approaches).
- GCSE / National 5 attainment: GCSE: you have achieved at least 999988 (or 6A* if still using letter grades) in your GCSEs, including Mathematics and Sciences subjects. If you have a combination of letter and number-graded GCSEs, this should be at least 6 subjects including maths and sciences at A*/8/9, and including 4 of those at A* or 9.
- Scotland - National 5: a majority of As including As in all Maths and Sciences subjects.
