Want to experience studying maths at Cambridge? Join the free residential Women in Maths programme-explore Christ's and Trinity, attend taster lectures, connect with current students and admissions staff, and build skills to strengthen your uni application.

Deadline in 33 days

This free residential programme for young women offers a short immersive experience of studying Mathematics and other highly mathematical subjects at the University of Cambridge. During the stay participants will explore both Christ's and Trinity Colleges, attend taster lectures led by academics, meet current students from Maths and related subjects, and meet admissions staff.

The programme runs from Thursday 26 March to Saturday 28 March 2026. It aims to give insight into the academic challenge of studying at Cambridge as well as social activities to help participants meet others on the programme.

All costs including meals, accommodation, activities and travel are covered; an additional night of accommodation on Wednesday 25 March may be provided for those travelling the furthest.

Applicants must meet the published eligibility criteria (see eligibility list) and complete the application form linked from the event webpage. The event is residential and attendance for the full programme is required if selected.

  • You are a woman studying at a UK state school (i.e. the school doesn’t charge fees).
  • You are currently in Year 12 in England/Wales, Year 13 if in Northern Ireland, or S5 in Scotland.
  • You will be 16 or over on 26 March 2026.
  • You can attend the full programme if selected (you may need to miss some days of school).
  • You are studying toward one of the following qualifications: A-Levels (both Maths AND Further Maths to full A-Level), IB Higher Level Mathematics Analysis and Approaches, or Highers and intended Advanced Highers (Scotland) in Mathematics.
  • Core Maths, AS Further Maths or solely Maths A-Level are not sufficient; self-study of Further Maths is acceptable if you intend to sit the exams.
Pay & Benefits

Free programme. All costs including meals, accommodation, activities and travel are covered. Those travelling from the furthest distances may be offered an additional night of accommodation on Wednesday 25 March.
