CIBSE Home Counties South West Speed Networking: Meet Engineers & Sustainability Professionals at UCL

This in-person speed networking event brings together building services engineers, sustainability professionals, and other adjacent specialists so students can hear directly from people working in these careers. It is designed to give attendees a realistic sense of what different roles involve and how career paths can develop across the built environment.

The session uses short, structured 1:1 conversations, with attendees rotating through several brief chats across two networking rounds. The format is intentionally informal and approachable, making it easy to ask questions about day-to-day work, the skills employers value, and the routes into engineering, sustainability, and related professions.

It is open to all students and does not require any prior technical background or experience. The emphasis is on curiosity, exploration, and getting practical advice from professionals who can share what their jobs are really like and what might help someone get started in the sector.
