Level Entry 1 SAIL is a one-year, full-time college programme delivered at City of Portsmouth College's Sixth Form Campus designed for learners working at entry level, including those with learning difficulties and disabilities. The course focuses on developing independence, confidence and transferable skills to improve life and work opportunities.
Units include promoting independent living skills, identifying employability skills, teamwork, and developing personal skills and awareness. Assessment is completed through a portfolio of evidence using a variety of methods (activities, group work, photographic and video).
Weekly tutorials and formal feedback every six weeks support learner progress, and each student is assigned a Programme Lead and teaching/support staff who work closely with parents/carers. The programme provides progression routes to other entry level programmes at the same or higher level.
Applicants can apply via the college's online application portal (link available on the course page). The course starts on 08 September 2026 and runs for one academic year.
