Shadow professionals across different departments and see how their work fits together. You’ll observe real situations, ask about job roles and may visit a fire station; placements are usually a week at the Training and Administration Hub in Hartlepool.

Cleveland Fire Brigade offers work experience placements that give students a valuable insight into the work of the Fire Brigade. Placements are designed to help you explore a variety of departments and understand how different functions within the organisation fit together.

You will have the chance to shadow professionals, observe real work situations, and ask questions about their job roles.

Placements are usually a week long and are based at the Training and Administration Hub in Hartlepool. Where possible, the programme may also include visits to fire stations, although placements cannot be accommodated in the stations themselves.

The experience is intended to support education choices and future career pathways, and it is open to students in the last two years of compulsory schooling as well as post-16 students taking part in an organised work experience placement programme.
