Teach adults to cook simple, healthy meals in one-to-one sessions, helping them build confidence to prepare more food at home. You’ll need everyday cooking skills and clear, encouraging communication - not chef experience - and lessons usually last around an hour.
Volunteer instructors support adults in learning how to cook simple, healthy meals and build the confidence to prepare more food for themselves at home. Sessions are delivered one-to-one, with lessons usually lasting around an hour.
The role is suitable for people with everyday cooking skills rather than professional chef experience, and the most important ability is to communicate clearly and encourage learners with different levels of experience.
This is a flexible volunteering role based at 145 Central Drive, Blackpool. The centre currently opens on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with plans to expand into more evening and daytime sessions on Wednesday.
Support is provided through induction, ongoing support, a written role description and insurance cover, and volunteers can claim expenses. A DBS check is required.
Expenses reimbursed.
