Join a small, professional commercial grounds maintenance and landscaping team as an apprentice working on a range of practical tasks including grass cutting, strimming, hedge cutting, spraying, hand weeding, planting, turfing and basic hard landscaping. The role is hands-on and largely field-based; you must be reliable, punctual, physically fit and able to follow instructions.

Typical working pattern is Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays and flexible start times between 06:00-07:30 and finishes between 15:00-17:00 (45 hours a week). The workplace address is 12 Hornyold Road, Malvern, WR14 1QQ.

Your training is delivered in partnership with Warwickshire College and includes block week learning at Pershore College. On successful completion you will be awarded a Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in Horticulture (Horticulture/Landscape operative) and additional qualifications such as Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work, PA1 pesticide training and Safe Use of Abrasive Wheels (landscape option).

Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will be required to achieve level 1 and take the test for level 2 before end-point assessment.

The apprenticeship starts on Monday 5 January 2026, runs for two years and offers the possibility of long-term employment for the right candidate. Travel to varied sites is required (up to two hours) and the employer may provide overnight accommodation when necessary.

The employer will support you to obtain required cards and checks as part of the role.

  • Physically fit and prepared for early starts
  • Able to travel to sites (travel times can be up to 2 hours) and occasionally stay away in overnight accommodation
  • Subject to a CRB check
  • Must obtain a Green CSCS landscape operator card (employer will provide training/support)
  • Interview and a practical day working with the team as part of the selection process
