General placements can last one to three days across clinical and non-clinical NHS services, including mental health, learning disability, autism and children’s services. Or try the virtual programme to explore mental health nursing and general practice, with a certificate of completion.
Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust offers work experience across a range of services, including mental health, learning disability and autism, children and young people's services, and corporate services. Placements are available in both clinical and non-clinical settings, with opportunities designed to help people learn more about working in the NHS and explore different roles and services.
There are several routes depending on the applicant. General work experience is open to anyone and typically lasts one to three days. The Trust also offers a smaller number of placements for school and college students who need practical experience as part of a current course, such as a BTEC or T Level.
Degree-level and higher placements are available for students who need this type of experience for their course requirements.
The Trust says placements are offered on a first come, first served basis and will be matched as closely as possible to requested dates. It also offers a virtual Springpod work experience programme that lets participants explore mental health nursing and general practice, with a certificate of completion on offer.
