Across five weeks, design and make your own side table at Building Crafts College in London. Build hands-on craft skills by learning through doing and create a finished piece of work.

Closes 7 January 2027

This five-week practical workshop invites young people to design and make their own side table at Building Crafts College in London. Participants will spend Saturdays developing hands-on craft skills in a supportive workshop environment, with the emphasis on learning by doing and producing a finished piece of work.

The Creative Dimension Trust uses its workshops to help participants build transferable skills such as manual dexterity, visual sensitivity, organisation, planning, focus and teamwork. The programme is also designed to give insight into creative and craft-related careers, with alumni going on to areas such as architecture, engineering, fine art, jewellery making, art conservation, glass working, theatre design, fashion design and costume design.

Places are fully funded by sponsors and are limited, so applications are encouraged as early as possible. Successful participants must attend every session and be able to make their own way to and from the venue.

For longer workshops, TCDT also offers accreditation with graded outcomes and written evaluation.
