Immerse Education’s Creative Writing Summer School in Oxford is a residential, on-campus programme for young writers. The course is delivered in two age-streams (13-15 and 16-18) and combines tuition in fiction, poetry and other genres with peer workshops, one-to-one tutorial time and a personal research or writing project.
Expert tutors and published authors lead small classes to develop creative technique, narrative structure, character development and editing skills.
Participants live and learn within Oxford University colleges, experiencing day-to-day college life alongside academic study. The programme culminates in a certificate of achievement and offers an optional UCAS-points add-on for eligible students.
Social activities, guest talks and guided city explorations are included to complement academic sessions and provide a rounded residential experience.
This course is intended for ambitious school students looking to deepen their writing practice and gain a taste of university-style study in a collegiate setting.
