Crissy's Craft Haven is looking for a Crafting Volunteer to help run craft-orientated activities and workshops for local people in Darwen and Blackburn. The role involves teaching volunteers various crafts and skills, encouraging people to learn from one another by sharing what they already know, and helping other craft groups come along to teach new skills too.
It is a hands-on community role for anyone who enjoys making things and wants to support others.
The project has an environmental focus as well, with an emphasis on using recycled materials and showing how creative activities can benefit the community. As the group develops, volunteers may also help prepare activities that can be taken into residential and nursing homes so that older and more vulnerable residents can join in.
The opportunity is initially based at Number 1 Coffee Shop in Darwen, with the group currently expecting to be on site one day a week for the time being.

- Existing crafting skills would be of benefit.
- Willingness and enthusiasm to learn and take part in crafting.
- Enthusiasm to use recycled materials and help care for the environment.
- Willingness to take in new information and learn new skills.
- Care about older and more vulnerable people in the community.
- Suitable for under 18s.
- DBS check required.
