The CSES Science and Engineering Saturday Club at Anglia Ruskin University (Chelmsford Campus) offers Year 10 students a free, hands-on introduction to STEM. Sessions use ARU's Super Lab and workshop facilities and explore the science and engineering behind real-life activities and problems.
Club members will take part in laboratory and workshop sessions and visit local science and technology organisations. Club members will meet professionals, academics and current university students, giving participants a chance to talk to people already studying or working in STEM.
The programme also includes national events organised by the National Saturday Clubs network such as a masterclass with industry professionals and a Summer Show exhibition in July. The club starts on 24 January 2026 and runs for 15 weeks, with sessions on Saturday mornings from 10:00 to 12:30 during term time.
Places are limited to a maximum of thirty students. Applicants should register their interest and complete the online application via the National Saturday Club website. If successful, students are expected to commit to weekly attendance for the duration of the programme.
