Step-Ahead Flooring Store is recruiting a Customer Service Apprentice to learn the sales and retail skills needed in a shop-based role. You will spend most of your time working on the shop floor learning on the job: greeting customers, providing product information, taking and handling payments, answering phones, accepting deliveries and undertaking some manual handling.
Regular reviews, product training and one-to-one mentoring from an experienced manager are part of the role.
The apprenticeship includes formal training with THE EDUCATION TRAINING COLLECTIVE and delivery of the Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner qualification (with functional skills in maths and English if required). The training is mostly on-the-job; the employer states you will not need to attend college.
The role is 35 hours per week (shift pattern Monday-Sunday with an hour lunch) and starts on Monday 24 November 2025.
On successful completion there is an opportunity for a full-time position. Company benefits include employee/store discounts and free parking. The employer notes the apprenticeship may lead to increased pay after the first year depending on age and progression.
