Curious what a day as a medic actually feels like? Join Debate Chamber’s five-day in-person summer school to explore cardiology, neurology, imaging and suturing through seminars, casework and hands-on clinical practice - build skills, boost your UCAS personal statement and meet med professionals.

This in-person Medicine Summer School is a five-day, practical introduction to core medical topics designed for students considering medicine. Through seminars, detailed case studies and hands-on sessions, participants will explore areas including cardiology, radiology and medical imaging, neurology, haematology, suturing, pulmonary systems, psychiatric medicine, oncology, paediatric medicine and emergency medicine.

Emphasis is placed on clinical engagement: students will take histories, conduct examinations, decide on investigations and present diagnoses and treatment plans.

Teaching is delivered by senior medical students selected for strong communication skills and academic achievement. Tutors will share realistic insight into medical training and admissions, and the course integrates medical ethics and interview preparation throughout.

Sessions are collaborative and presentation-focused to develop interpersonal skills and confidence as well as subject knowledge.

Practical details: the course runs 10:30 6:30 (with a lunch break) from 10 to 14 August 2026 at Woburn House in Bloomsbury, Central London. This is a non-residential course; accommodation must be arranged independently.

Booking requires a 25% non-refundable deposit; bursaries are available for eligible students.
