The Debate Chamber Young Diplomats Summer School is a two-day in-person course for students aged 11-14 interested in international relations, negotiation, and global affairs. Through guided debates, hands-on simulations, and team-based challenges, participants take on the roles of diplomats, negotiators and representatives of international organisations to explore issues such as trade, conflict resolution and migration.
Students will develop public speaking, strategic thinking, negotiation and teamwork skills via role-play, simulations and facilitated discussions. Tutors experienced in working with younger students lead practical exercises designed to build confidence, critical thinking and collaboration while giving insight into how institutions such as the United Nations and the World Trade Organization operate.
Practical details: the non-residential course runs on 13-14 August 2026 at Woburn House, Bloomsbury, Central London. Teaching hours are 10:30-16:30 each day (lunch 12:30-13:30). Course fee and bursaries of up to 90% are available; bursary applications for Summer 2026 open in January.
