This two-week summer program at Georgetown University is a focused public speaking and debate course for high-school students (ages 14-18). Students develop core communication skills including speech crafting, persuasive argument construction, vocal technique, and body language.
Classes combine instructor-led sessions, structured debates, and practical exercises designed to build confidence for both prepared speeches and spontaneous discussion. Participants receive a comprehensive academic experience with small interactive classes, instructor feedback, and a portfolio of achievements on completion: a Course Completion Certificate, a Letter of Recognition, and an official Georgetown transcript (credit-bearing options subject to university policies).
The program offers both residential (boarding) and day options and includes supervised activities, excursions, and 24/7 on-site supervision for residential students. International students receive visa support and an international registration package (covers visa support, shuttle transport and medical insurance).
Applicants must complete the Summer Institute application; travel to Georgetown and any required visas/ESTA are the responsibility of families.
