GM61 is recruiting a Degree Apprentice IT Consultant to join its IT team in Chippenham. This is a hands-on, work-based role where the apprentice will support service desk operations, deploy and manage Windows 11 via Intune, package and distribute applications, assist with Azure setup and maintenance, monitor security (including Cyber Essentials), provide remote and on-site support, and contribute to IT projects and client onboarding.
The programme is a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship (Digital and Technology Solutions Professional) delivered in partnership with THE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER LTD. The apprenticeship includes block weeks in an online training room each quarter, weekly off-the-job training and monthly coaching, a designated workplace mentor, and assessment by an external assessment body.
The advertised start date is 1 December 2025 and the programme runs for 42 months.
The role is based at GM61’s Head Office (New House Farm, Tormarton Road, Marshfield, Chippenham, SN14 8JG). Applicants must meet the essential GCSE requirements and have relevant IT support experience and technical familiarity with Windows 11, Intune, Microsoft 365 and Azure.
A full driving licence and use of own car are essential due to the rural location and travel to customer sites.

- GCSE Maths grade 4 (or equivalent)
- Full driving licence and use of own car (essential)
- 2–4 years of IT support experience
- Strong knowledge of Windows 11 and Microsoft Intune
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration
- Experience with Azure environment management (deployment, monitoring, maintenance)
- Awareness of cybersecurity principles and endpoint protection
- Familiarity with remote support tools (e.g. TeamViewer)
- Basic understanding of Docker containers (desirable, not essential)
- Based at GM61’s Head Office in a rural location; some travel to customer sites will be required
