Dentistry Work Experience & Career Day - CareerDays

This one-day Dentistry Work Experience & Career Day from CareerDays is an online course aimed at students aged 13 and over who are considering a career in dentistry. The morning session covers dentistry school applications: entry requirements, recommended GCSE/A-Level subjects, routes into dentistry, pay scales, what to expect from university and training, personal statement guidance, the UCAT admissions test, and interview preparation.

The afternoon provides practical dentistry work experience led by practising dentists and dental students. Participants will learn basics such as history taking and oral examination, observe/learn about procedures (extractions, cavities and restorations), and work through two interactive clinical case studies to discuss diagnosis and treatment.

The day finishes with a Q&A with dentists. A personalised certificate is provided for the practical element, which can be used in applications and interviews.

The course is delivered online, is available to view for 60 days after the live date, and is described as suitable for students of any age from all countries who have an interest in dentistry.
