This is a 2-year software and platform engineering apprenticeship with BP based at BP ICBT, Sunbury-on-Thames. As an apprentice you'll spend most of your time working on real projects to develop enterprise software using technologies such as Java, C#.
Net, Node. js, React Native and low-code platforms (Salesforce, ServiceNow, Microsoft PowerApps). The role involves authoring technical documentation, collaborating with teams, and contributing to software that supports revenue-generating activity or automates business processes.
The apprenticeship includes formal training delivered by QA LIMITED aligned to the Software Developer (Level 4) standard. Formal learning will be a mix of online and in-person delivery, with a minimum of 6 hours of protected time per week for study.
The programme covers coding best practice, testing (unit, integration, system, UAT, performance and security), software design, data handling, debugging, CI/version control, and communicating solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
You will be paid £22,100 per year (36. 25 hours per week / 36 hours often referenced) and receive additional benefits including a flexible benefits allowance, a £1,500 wellbeing allowance, annual bonus plan, share plan options and a one-off £3,000 settling-in allowance.
There may be the opportunity to apply for a permanent role at BP after successful completion.
