Dog Groomer Apprentice (My Dog Barber)

Join My Dog Barber as a Level 2 Dog Groomer Apprentice based across the Chester le Street and Low Fell salons, with practical training delivered at the employer's Training Academy in Hebburn. The role starts on Monday 8 December 2025, runs for 1 year 4 months and offers a first-year wage of £11,778 (apprentice/NMW rules).

The apprenticeship is for one position and is primarily workplace-based, with around 30 hours per week.

You will gain hands-on salon experience working alongside professional stylists. Typical duties include welcoming customers, washing and drying dogs, trimming nails, teeth cleaning, and grooming and trimming different styles for various breeds and coat types.

Training is provided by KEITS TRAINING SERVICES LTD and includes both employer-led on-the-job learning and allocated industry-specific training consultant support, culminating in an End Point Assessment (EPA).

Applicants should ideally have GCSEs in English and maths (Grade C/4) and any relevant dog experience. This apprenticeship offers the possibility of future employment for the right candidate. To apply you must sign in with a GOV.
