Want to explore medicine or dentistry for free this summer? Join DSC Summer Schools 2026 - over 500 funded places across England. Experience hands-on taster sessions, residential or online options, build skills, boost your uni application and connect with universities.

Deadline in 68 days

Funded by NHS England and run by the Medical Schools Council in partnership with the Dental Schools Council, the DSC Summer Schools 2026 offer over 500 free places across England. The programme gives Year 11 and Year 12 students from under-represented backgrounds the chance to explore studying medicine and dentistry through a mix of residential, commuter and online options.

Partner institutions for the dental strand include University of Liverpool, Newcastle University, University of Plymouth, Queen Mary University of London and King’s College London.

Participants will take part in simulated teaching to experience university study, learn about the values and behaviours of medical and dental students, and hear about a range of clinical and non-clinical careers. The programme includes confidence- and social-capital-building activities, opportunities to meet academics and students, and practical admissions support including interview and admissions test preparation.

Applications open 26 January 2026 and close 8 March 2026. For more information or enquiries contact outreach@medschools. ac.
