Future Scientists (STEM) at Canford is a two-week residential summer school for students aged 11 6 who want to explore biology, chemistry and physics through hands-on experiments, demonstrations and guided research. Students take part in interactive lessons (about 15 hours per week), practical laboratory work and structured group projects that develop investigative and analytical skills.
The programme emphasises teamwork and communication through the ‘Time to Shine’ group projects and a festival-style showcase. Each week includes excursions (examples: Thorpe Park, visits in London) and a varied social programme with sports, performing arts and creative workshops.
Small class sizes (maximum 15) allow for personalised tutor feedback.
Participants receive a personalised end-of-course report and a certificate of achievement. The course is delivered on-site at Canford School in Dorset, with campus facilities and boarding houses; consult the brochure or Dukes Plus for details on accommodation and travel arrangements and what the fee covers.
