Explore colour, composition, photography and graphic design through practical art projects in Oxford, then develop your own artistic voice and share your work in the programme’s Time to Shine showcase. The two-week summer school also includes excursions, sports and evening events.
Future Artists - Headington is a two-week summer school in Oxford for creative students aged 12-16. It is designed for young people who enjoy drawing, designing, and developing imaginative ideas, and who want to build confidence in discussing art in English while experiencing a lively summer programme in the UK.
The academic side of the course focuses on how art communicates ideas. Students explore colour, shape, composition, illustration, photography, and graphic design, while also looking at inspiring artists and different creative approaches.
They develop their own artistic voice through practical projects, then share their work in the programme’s Time to Shine showcase.
Alongside the classroom learning, students enjoy sports, social activities, excursions, and evening events in Oxford. The programme offers both day and residential options, with meals and accommodation included for residential students.
It is delivered by Summer Boarding Courses, part of Dukes Plus, and includes 24/7 pastoral support, a small staff-to-student ratio, and a certificate and end-of-course report on completion.
