Spend two weeks in Oxford exploring Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, Neuroscience and Pharmacology through university-style lectures and group research. Build your note-taking, academic argument and presentation skills as you use evidence to challenge assumptions - and present your project at a ceremony.
Future Scholars: Sciences is a two-week pre-university summer school in Oxford for students aged 15 to 17. It introduces key areas such as Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, Neuroscience and Pharmacology while helping students build the academic skills needed for university study.
The programme focuses on how scientists think, research and communicate. Students attend university-style lectures, practise taking effective notes, learn to construct academic arguments, and develop confidence in presenting scientific ideas clearly.
They also work in groups on a research question, using evidence to challenge assumptions and draw conclusions.
Alongside the academic content, students experience Oxford’s historic collegiate environment and take part in a presentation ceremony at the end of their project work. The course is designed to give ambitious students a taste of undergraduate study while supporting different levels of prior knowledge.
