Explore how water reaches your taps and how it’s treated through interactive activities on STEM careers, operations, business support and sustainability. Build teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills, then download a certificate to show future employers.

This virtual work experience with Dŵr Cymru introduces you to the water industry and the range of careers linked to it. It explores how water reaches our taps, how water and wastewater are treated, and how innovation, sustainability and environmental responsibility shape the work of the organisation.

The programme also highlights early careers pathways and the kinds of roles available across STEM, operations and business support.

You will work through a series of quizzes and interactive activities designed to build your understanding of the sector. Modules cover Dŵr Cymru itself, STEM careers, water and wastewater operations, business support functions such as finance, communications, HR, customer service, IT and legal and regulatory roles, plus environment and sustainability.

The programme is built to help you develop employability skills such as teamwork, communication and problem solving. It includes live talks that are also available as recordings, and you will finish with a certificate to download and show to future employers.

It is an on-demand experience with around 10 hours of work in total, spread across a two-week period.
