Join monthly bird walks and wildlife surveys in Walpole Park, recording birds, butterflies, bats and moths for national and global research. You can also help enter findings into national databases, where accuracy and confidence with Excel matter. Bird walks meet by the café kiosk.

Citizen science lets members of the public collect useful scientific data, even without formal training. This project invites people of all experience levels, from enthusiastic beginners and children to experienced experts, to get involved in wildlife monitoring and contribute to important national and global research.

Volunteers can take part in monthly bird walks and surveys in Walpole Park, meeting by the café kiosk. The project also includes butterfly, bat and moth surveys across the park, along with opportunities to help record wildlife through local groups and related events.

Volunteers may also help input survey data into the relevant national databases, so confidence using Excel and a good eye for accuracy are important.
