Join Footsteps Nursery Wilmslow as an Early Years Apprentice and train towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification while working in a childcare setting. The role involves supporting children’s learning, play and development, promoting positive relationships, contributing to health, safety and wellbeing, and supporting key persons in building relationships with children and families.

Apprentices spend most time working on the job with dedicated off-the-job training provided by the training provider (Realise). The apprenticeship includes the Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator, a Level 3 Paediatric First Aid award (or emergency equivalent), and Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English if required.

Typical duties include supporting children’s development, being responsible for a small cohort when ready, following safeguarding procedures, and contributing to high-quality practice.

This position is based at Tudor Road, Wilmslow (SK9 2HB). Hours are 28 hours per week, Monday to Friday (shifts to be agreed at offer stage). The apprenticeship starts on 1 December 2025, runs for 1 year 2 months, and there are 4 positions available.

Successful completion may lead to a full-time qualified position.

You'll Earn

£10,993 per year

Pay & Benefits

£10,992.80 for the first year (apprentice wage). National Minimum Wage apprentice rate applies and may increase depending on age. Uniform provided on start; £30 twice a year for additional uniform. £500 completion bonus on finishing Level 3 and a further £1,000 after being qualified for 12 months.
