Early Years Apprenticeship - Woodley Gardens Day Nursery

Join Woodley Gardens Day Nursery as a full-time Early Years Apprentice working with children under five. This one-year apprenticeship combines on-the-job learning with classroom training. You will be based at the nursery (71 Reading Rd, Woodley, Reading, Berkshire, RG5 3AE) and work a 40-hour week with shifts to be confirmed between Monday and Friday.

As an apprentice you will gain practical experience in daily nursery tasks: preparing play areas, supervising children, supporting activities (arts, storytelling, games), meal routines, hygiene, observation and documentation, and supporting children’s early language and mathematical development. You will also attend bi-weekly classes at Chiltern Training Ltd in Reading to complete the Early Years Practitioner Level 2 apprenticeship standard and related professional knowledge and skills.

The role is paid (£15,704 for the first year, with potential increases depending on age) and starts Wednesday 11 February 2026. The apprenticeship is delivered in-person at Woodley Gardens Day Nursery with training sessions at Chiltern Training in Reading.
