Join St. Matthews Little Monkeys as an Early Years Educator apprentice and gain hands-on experience working with children aged 0-5. The role involves providing high-quality care and education through play-based activities, observing and assessing children’s progress in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), supporting daily routines (mealtimes, nappy changes, naps), and maintaining a safe, inclusive environment.

You will work closely with colleagues and parents to plan and implement a curriculum that meets individual children’s needs.

The apprenticeship includes specialist training delivered by Best Practice Network Limited leading to the Early Years Educator Level 3 qualification. Training is blended (virtual classrooms, webinars, work-based tasks and online assignments) with one-to-one tutor support and in-person tutor visits every 5-6 weeks; paediatric first aid is included.

The role is full time (32 hours 30 minutes per week), starts Tuesday 13 January 2026, and lasts 1 year 6 months. The advertised wage for the first year is £12,759. 50 (apprentice/NMW rates apply).

Applicants should be prepared to undergo DBS and reference checks and demonstrate strong communication, organisation, teamwork and child-centred practice. On completion there may be opportunities to continue with the employer or progress to higher-level qualifications such as Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner or Level 3 Early Years SENCO.

Pay & Benefits

£12,759.50 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age. National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices applies.
