Start by helping on poolside and see if swimming teaching suits you, even without qualifications. After an informal chat, staff can help you find a next step towards formal training and paid teaching; qualified applicants can apply for paid roles.

East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture is looking for people who are interested in getting involved in swimming teaching. If you already hold a UKCC Level 1 or 2 qualification, or an ASA equivalent, you can apply for a paid position.

The page describes the role as rewarding, fun and challenging, with opportunities to teach swimmers of all ages and help people learn and develop.

If you do not yet have qualifications, there are still ways to start by helping on poolside and seeing whether swimming teaching is right for you. After an informal chat with staff, EDLC will help identify a suitable next step and support you towards formal qualifications and, ultimately, teaching and being paid.

The opportunity is open to anyone from 14 years of age, with suitable applicants also required to pass checks for working with children and young people.
