easyJet
Earn while you learn with easyJet: a 2-year Level 3 aeronautical engineering apprenticeship based at London Luton, with paid accommodation for the first 9 months and clear progression to a licenced aircraft engineer.
easyJet's Advanced Apprenticeship in Aeronautical Engineering combines on-the-job learning with formal training to develop licensed aeronautical engineers. Apprentices will complete a CAT A1 training course at easyJet's Luton and/or Kemble training academy over a 9-month period, then continue practical full-time work at Luton or Gatwick to build evidence for UKCAA and EASA Part-66 Category A1 modules and pass the end-point assessment.
The role is primarily workshop/hangar-based at Hangar 89, London Luton Airport (Luton, Bedfordshire LU2 9PF). Weekly hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00-17:00 (37 hours 30 minutes). The apprenticeship includes specialist training delivered by LRTT LIMITED, covering maintenance tasks, health and safety, record keeping, problem solving, use of tools and equipment, IT and quality assurance procedures relevant to aircraft maintenance.
Essential entry requirements include GCSEs in English, Maths and Science (grades 4-9). The selection process is multi-stage: online application, pre-screening questions, a short introduction video, online aptitude tests, telephone/video interview, and a final assessment day.
Benefits include paid accommodation for the first 9 months, meals during that period, a pension contribution and staff travel discounts.
