Eden Valley Hospice is recruiting laundry volunteers to support the housekeeping and clinical teams with essential day-to-day laundry work. The role involves washing, drying and pressing bedding, and occasionally clothes, helping to keep the hospice running smoothly for patients and staff.
Laundry work mainly involves sheets, but can also include towels, facecloths, duvets, placemats and sometimes chefs’ clothes from the kitchen. Volunteers will use the laundry equipment on site and help ensure items are cleaned, folded and prepared to a good standard.
This is a practical volunteering role for someone who is happy to follow health and safety and infection control procedures, use appropriate protective equipment and work as part of a team. It is based at Eden Valley Hospice & Jigsaw in Carlisle, with regular weekday and weekend shifts available.
The role is subject to a DBS check.
