This is a practical photography workshop presented as part of St Edmund's Festival and run by St Edmund's School Art Department. Led by documentary photographer Edward Thompson, the session explores the creative use of portable studio lighting in natural woodland settings and the relationship between lighting, mood and narrative in contemporary documentary portraiture.
The event takes place at St Edmund's School, Canterbury on Saturday 27 June 2026. Participants will develop on-location lighting skills, experiment with portable equipment and learn approaches that translate between outdoor and studio portrait work.
All materials are provided. The workshop is limited to 12 places and has a minimum age of 15. Tickets are available via the TicketSource event page.
