EDT Silver STEM Futures: University Pathway

STEM Futures: University Pathway is a flexible virtual course for students who want to explore STEM at university level. It brings together live interactive sessions, recorded lectures, practical projects and activities, plus guidance from academics, admissions tutors, apprentices, employers and current students.

The programme is designed to help students discover different STEM pathways, including degree apprenticeships and the kinds of careers these subjects can lead to.

Students can choose from a wide range of STEM topics and tailor the experience to their own interests. The course includes university-style lectures, workshops from STEM organisations, support with applications and student finance, and opportunities to ask questions directly to people studying and working in the sector.

There are also practical activities and an independent research project so participants can develop confidence, organisation and subject knowledge.

The programme is completed online over the summer and takes around 30 hours in total, which can be fitted around other commitments. It is suitable for students of all abilities and is aimed at those with a genuine interest in STEM and higher education.

Successful completion leads to a Silver Industrial Cadets Award.
